The Chispro® Jet-mill is a micronizer fluid energy mill designed to the specifications of a mathematical model embodying the
results of many years of continuous research into fluid energy milling plus direct experience gained in manufacturing
and operating on industrial jet-mill.
The Chispro® Jet-mill utilizes a shallow cylindrical grinding chamber into which high pressure air
is dischangeable nozzles in the grinding ring.
The fluid emerges in the grinding chamber in form of high energy jets. The fluid jets generate a high speed vortex
into which the material is introduced, utilizing the vacuum created by a venturi-nozzle.
Each particle of material carried in the air stream is therefore subject to a centrifugal force coercing the particle
to the perimeter and a radial drag force removing the particle from the jet mill.
These arrows show the three forces acting simultaneously on the material to be micronized:
Product to be micronized
Forces set up by grinding jets
Tangential forces
Rotational forces
Main inlet for grinding medium

Above certain size, called the "cut size" the rotational force predominates ensuring that the oversize material remains in the
grinding zone. Below the "cut size", the radial force predominates and tends to remove the material out of the mill.
